Kendrick Lamar’s Move to Bel Air: Inside His $15.9 Million Traditional Mansion

Kendrick Lamar has resided in the beachfront community of Manhattan Beach for a long time. The renowned rapper and musician spent years renting there before purchasing a brand-new mansion there three years ago, where the sandy beach and deep blue water are only two short blocks from his front door. But now that he has just finished buying a traditional-style home in Bel Air’s prestigious East Gate neighborhood, he is moving much farther inland.

According to records, Lamar paid $15.9 million for his new mansion, which is almost the whole asking amount. The early 1950s building, which was built by renowned L.A. architect Edward Fickett, has been vigorously “renewed” and expanded since then. It now consists of a main house and a two-story guesthouse, with a combined living area of just over 8,000 square feet and seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

Lamar’s new home features a two-car garage and additional parking space for up to eight vehicles tucked off to the side, and is nestled away behind walls and gates on a flat tract of ground measuring about three-quarters of an acre. Despite the dearth of recent MLS pictures, a prior rental offering does depict a roomy living/dining space with warm hardwood flooring, a brick fireplace, and access to a covered patio.

Other highlights include a family area that resembles an atrium and is connected to a modern kitchen with a butler’s pantry, an eat-in island, and high-end stainless equipment. The private master suite is hidden dоwn a long hallway and features a fireside sitting area, a spacious bathroom with two vanities, and a clawfoot soaking tub. Other amenities include an office/library, a movie theater, a wine cellar, and a gym.

A pool and spa are located on the grassy, walled grounds, which also have a sundeck, a koi pond, and a space for al fresco eating. The guesthouse mentioned earlier also has two additional bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs in addition to a living/dining room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room on the first floor.

In addition to his residences in Manhattan Beach and Bel Air, Lamar also has a house in Calabasas that has been inhabited by several of his family members for a long time.
