The world’s richest person, billionaire Elon Musk, is still considered homeless

In June 2021, Elon Musk, the world’s richest person with an estimated net worth of over $200 billion, unexpectedly listed his last remaining mansion on Twitter for $37.5 million. He later reduced the price to $31.99 million in October and finally sold it for $30 million in December of last year.

Prior to this, Elon Musk declared the 16,000-square-meter property as the “last remaining home” in California after selling off his other assets in the state. Earlier, Musk had sold all of his previous mansions within a span of two years, with an estimated total value of $114 million.

After selling all of his mansions, Elon Musk has transitioned to living in a compact mobile home called the Boxabl Casita, which is just over 30 square meters in size. The home is designed using durable concrete and steel panels and can be folded up for easy construction and flexible transportation purposes.

“The house in Boca Chica/Starbase where I currently live costs about $50,000. I’m renting it from SpaceX,” Elon Musk shared on Twitter, revealing that the house is located in a town in Texas near the Mexico border and SpaceX’s rocket launch facilities.
