Beyond Boundaries: Dive into the Futuristic 69m Concept ‘Cantharus’ Unveiled by Designer Darin Osborne

Darin Osborne, a designer from the United States, has unveiled a 69-meter concept with an innovative approach to underwater connectivity.

The yacht concept was designed with an underwater lounge office that can be simply converted into a master cabin at the owner’s request. The design provides unobstructed views of the ocean from both above and below deck and encourages visitors to immerse themselves in their surroundings.

The area immediately in front of the glass wall can be illuminated by underwater lighting at night.

The “futuristic” vessel features panoramic views from the upper bridge and the ability to “swing” each side of the helm station port or starboard to enhance visibility when docking or maneuvering the yacht. A radial variable skylight above the control provides the captain with a natural illumination that can be adjusted.

Below the main deck is a “glass hull-side” that wraps around the main saloon and shared living areas, including formal dining, a piano, and an entertainment system.

The aft main deck features a transformable stage that functions as a jacuzzi, as well as a dynamic layout that can be arranged for various seating configurations. A bar and DJ stand help to unify the space.

Osborne stated that he envisaged the Cantharus by beginning with the yacht’s hull and working upwards. “The underwater lounge is a place to be surrounded by water and beauty,” he said, adding that it provides “serenity” wherever the yacht sails.
