Glass Oasis: Solar Panel Giant Breathes New Energy into Tubular Glass House

The Kazakh architect Aibek Almassov designed this home in 2013, but funding fell through and it sat on the shelf until now. Unsurprisingly, a solar panel manufacturer has been identified as the new investor for the concept home. This environmentally friendly residence has many benefits, including the ability to have a fully-grown tree inside your living space. A very tall, mature tree.

It is designed to resemble an inverted tree house and features a fully translucent, cylindrical structure with 360-degree views.

The home was initially conceived of in 2013, but when the investment funds fell through, it was shelved for some time. Now, the residence has been revitalized by a solar panel manufacturer’s investment.

A spiral staircase that winds around the tree trunk connects the four levels.

Through the tree growing in the center of your living space and the glass that leads outside, you are completely connected to nature in this home.

What a wonderful spot to relax and take in the view.

The architect desired to provide an alternative to urban living. We believe that this suits the bill.

Almassov compares ascending the staircase to attaining various stages of spiritual enlightenment.

From the top level of this glass house, one receives a bird’s-eye view.

Each level of the atrium will be surrounded by glazed balustrades with wooden handrails so as not to obstruct the views.
