Seaffinity, the Magnificent Seagull-Inspired Trimaran Concept, Takes the Maritime World by Storm

The French studio VPLP Design has unveiled the Seaffinity, a 45-meter super-streamlined trimaran concept inspired by “the world of sea birds.”

The aluminum yacht, which the studio describes as a “yacht of the future,” is equipped with a hybrid engine propelled by hydrogen fuel cell-generated electricity. However, the primary source of propulsion for Seaffinity will be wind captured by two Oceanwing sails.

The exterior of the yacht is described as “monolithic” by the studio. This, coupled with the yacht’s eco-friendly propulsion, makes a voyage aboard “a communion with its environment,” according to the studio.

Seaffinity is designed for “new customers” who are uninterested in the “polluting” effects of conventional yachts.

“We also wanted to provide them with our vision of a new boat concept that is more in tune with nature and the environment,” the studio explained.

The interior features “deliberately reduced colors” to emphasize the sailing experience outside. “The ambiance is more important than the décor,” the studio said. “We did not want to create a work that stands out between the spectacle of the sea and us.”

Other specifications include a beam of 16.8 meters and a draft of two meters.
