Discover the Magnificent East Hampton Compound of Hugh Jackman

Hugh “Wolverine” Jackman and his family will be filming “Deadpool 3” in Vancouver over the next few months, including the summer. Therefore, they will no longer require their stunning modernist estate in East Hampton, situated on Gardiner’s Bay with a private sandy beach, and have decided to rent it out for a substantial charge to another wealthy individual or family.

This summer, the Jackmans’ loss could be someone else’s gain, assuming someone is willing to pay the $500,000 required for a Memorial Day to Labor Day rental. Contact Susan Breitenbach at Corcoran or Martha Gundersen and Paul Brennan at Douglas Elliman if the price is reasonable and does not induce cardiac palpitations. Even at this price, the Jackmans’ jaw-dropper is unlikely to remain on the market for long.

In 2015, Jackman and his wife, the former actress and producer Deborra-Lee Furness, purchased two waterfront properties for approximately $7.5 million. Reputable modernist architects Stelle Lomont Rouhani were hired to design a pair of replacement residences, one of which was larger than the other. On 2.5 acres, the property consists of five bedrooms and five and one-half bathrooms. Both residences are stunning in a minimalist and contemporary style. They are situated on a promontory overlooking the bay to maximize the views, and every luxury amenity is provided.

The minimalist main home features three bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and a gourmet kitchen with Gaggenau appliances. Custom-made by Field & Co., the solid bleached walnut dining table in the informal dining area is hand-carved, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors let in light and views.

The two-bedroom guesthouse has an open living area with a high-end kitchen, a living room with lounge-style furnishings, and a sleeping and lounging loft. One of the suites has a magnificent 180-degree view of the bay and overlooks the pool and spa.

Numerous other high-profile individuals have been drawn to the area over the years by its tranquility and the placid waters of the bay; while Puff Daddy Diddy, or whatever he’s called these days, hasn’t been seen in the area recently, his all-white home is just down the road, as is that of legendary fashion designer Donna Karan.

Jackman, who is currently performing singing and dancing in the revival of “The Music Man” on Broadway, has also recently made notable real estate transactions in Manhattan. Last summer, he listed his West Village triplex for $38.9 million, and it remains for sale at the same price. In the fall, he paid more than $21 million for a four-bedroom penthouse in West Chelsea.
