It turns out that the mystery buyer who splurged a staggering $10.8 million on a large house in the exclusive Mulholland Estates, a guard-gated community above Sherman Oaks, last summer, is none other than Chris Comstock. Known to his millions of fans as Marshmello, the 28-year-old electronic music sensation hails from Philadelphia.

Ever since Marshmello and his sweet alter-ego burst onto the electronic music scene in 2015, they have enjoyed unparalleled success. With hit songs like “Silence,” “Wolves,” “Friends,” and “Alone,” Marshmello’s popularity skyrocketed. The iconic smiley bucket head, coupled with a well-executed marketing strategy orchestrated by his team, including his hardworking manager Moe Shalizi, played a crucial role in creating the Marshmello brand. Furthermore, early recognition from prominent EDM acts like Skrillex and Tiesto greatly contributed to his rapid rise to fame.

Only three years ago, Marshmello purchased his first Los Angeles home, a contemporary property worth $3.6 million, situated in the Laurel Canyon district. However, given his relentless success and the whopping $56 million he earned in 2019 alone, it’s no surprise that he decided to upgrade to a more extravagant residence.

Built in 1992 by the renowned architect Richard Landry, known for creating luxurious homes for celebrities, the house underwent significant renovations. Interior designer Jeff Lewis was tasked with rectifying past décor mistakes, resulting in a dazzlingly white and Miami-inspired aesthetic. The Altman Brothers Team at Douglas Elliman, featured on Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing,” represented the sellers, while Marshmello was represented by Ekaterina Chubarova of LA Estate Brokerage.
