Legendary football manager Sir Alex Ferguson has decided to lower the price of his luxurious £3.5 million villa in Wilmslow, Cheshire. The decision to sell the five-bedroom residence comes after the passing of his wife, Cathy, last year. The property showcases opulent interiors with grand chandeliers, private bathrooms, and meticulously maintained lawns.
Featuring a stylish open-plan kitchen, a games room adorned with artwork, oak bookcases, and a billiards table, the mansion exudes elegance. A distinctive ‘Ferguson clan’ striped rug adds a personal touch to the staircase. Despite its lavish amenities, the property faced challenges in finding a buyer, prompting Sir Alex to reduce the price by £250,000.
The mansion offers additional amenities such as a gym, a private bar, and four reception rooms for socializing. The exterior is characterized by lush green lawns and picturesque views, set within a private, gated, and secured estate spanning over 2000 square meters, according to real estate listings.
Sir Alex, who has moved to a £1.2 million house near his son Darren in Goostrey, Cheshire, for proximity to his grandchildren, now resides there. The football icon, with three sons, 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, has left behind a home filled with memories, as captured in poignant images of him and his late wife Cathy in 2016.
