Rick Ross garnered attention in August when he acquired a waterfront estate on Miami’s exclusive Star Island for $35 million. Now, he’s set to undergo a major renovation on the property.
The rap mogul expressed his admiration for the grand entry and unique architecture of the mansion, stating his plans to enhance it to align with his personal style. While he previously hinted at engaging in construction work himself, reports indicate a substantial $20 million investment in the property’s renovation, aiming to transform it into an estimated $100 million estate upon completion.
Rick Ross aims to make this mansion one of Miami’s most valuable and iconic homes, expressing a desire for innovation and creativity in the design and materials used. Luxe homebuilder Manny Angelo Varas is collaborating on the project, envisioning the estate as a standout residence with a worth of $100 million.
Star Island, a gated community with notable celebrity residents, sits between Miami Beach and mainland Florida. Ross joins celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, and Gloria Estefan on the island. Combs even gifted Ross a golf cart as a housewarming present.
Under Varas’s guidance, Ross plans to expand the mansion towards the ocean, introducing features like a Japanese rare Koi fish pond and walls adorned with a Basquiat painting. The renovation includes an additional 4,000 square feet, alterations to the facade with large windows, and changes to the driveway paving.
The 12,400-square-foot mansion initially featured six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, with notable amenities like a media room, library, chef’s kitchen, and a swimming pool with an outdoor kitchen. Varas and Ross are adding more space, and the property will host a recording and production studio. The exterior has been stripped, and a luxe swimming pool overlooking Biscayne Bay will be complemented by a spacious lounge area surrounded by palm trees.
While specific details about the final layout remain undisclosed, Ross expresses confidence in the investment, emphasizing action over words in an Instagram post.
