Currently listed for sale through Camper & Nicholsons, the MCY 76 model, named Beethoven, crafted by Monte Carlo Yachts, can cruise at a top speed of 35 mph.
Nadal, hailing from Majorca with an estimated net worth of £28 million, has always found solace near the water, using his yacht as a private retreat. Describing the Monte Carlo Yacht 76, he expressed, “To me, being on board the Monte Carlo Yacht 76 gives me the opportunity to get away when I want to get away,” in an interview with Barche magazine.
Choosing the MCY 76 after attending the 2013 Cannes Boat Show, Nadal desired a larger, sleeker, sportier, and more modern vessel than his previous Princess V62. Beethoven, a customized yacht, features a striking deep Mediterranean-blue hull, white topsides, a carbon-fiber flybridge hardtop, and a retractable sunroof.
Nadal’s specifications included a four-stateroom interior with a full-beam master bedroom, a forward VIP, and two twins. Muted grays and soft beige upholstery were chosen to maintain a harmonious aesthetic.
The tennis star insisted on numerous retractable TVs, stating his preference for comfort while watching TV on board. His future plans post the sale of Beethoven remain undisclosed, but it is unlikely he will opt for a significantly larger yacht due to port restrictions in his home base of Porto Cristo on Mallorca’s southeast coast.
While there are rumors of a potential upgrade, Nadal’s admiration for the sea and the yacht lifestyle reмains evident. He may consider the new MCY 80 yachts from Monte Carlo Yachts, ideal at 24.62 meters (80 feet) in length.
Acknowledging his need for a captain to manage the yacht during his frequent absences, Nadal emphasized, “I think this kind of yacht needs a captain. I need someone to take care of everything because I’m gone for more than half the year.”
