Inside the Lavish TikTok Kingdom: Jason Derulo’s Stunning Modern Farmhouse
Jason Derulo struggled for two years. The pop music singer-songwriter had several hits in the late 2000s and early 2010s, but he hadn’t charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in five years. In May 2020, Derulo left Warner Bros. due to “creative differences” after his 2019 EP, “2Sides,” was poorly received. The 30-year-old’s career was over?
During the pandemic, Derulo experimented with TikTok. With the help of Isabel Quinteros Annous, TikTok’s artist relations head, and several well-produced comedy videos, Derulo became the 14th-most-followed account on the app, with 51.6 million followers. The app helped his 2020 single “Savage Love” become a global hit. Derulo loved the attention from new fans who hadn’t heard his earlier hits. He’s not Usher.
Atlantic signed Derulo after his TikTok success last year. The TikTok money is good, too—estimates say a major account like Derulo’s can earn $75,000 per video in advertising revenue, but Derulo says he makes “far more” than that.
Whatever the case, Derulo’s bank account is likely healthier than ever after he ate corn off a power drill and shaved off his eyebrow. The Florida native already owns a $3 million mansion in L.A.’s suburban Tarzana neighborhood, but he spent another $3.6 million on a nearly-new Encino home. In 2020, a non-famous buyer paid $3.3 million for the nearly 5,000-square-foot modern farmhouse.
The new owner left soon after. The house was relisted six months later, but Derulo didn’t buy it until eight months later. The interiors of the listing photos are mostly unstaged and empty.
The five-bedroom, 5.5-bath house has a double-gated driveway. The house is white with black window trim and a front-facing two-car garage, like many modern farmhouses in the San Fernando Valley and Westside of Los Angeles.

The primary bathroom is covered in quartz with veining and features a soaking tub in addition to two sinks.
The 10,000-square-foot backyard has a lawn, BBQ center, and outdoor dining area. The pool has a spa and waterfall.
