Latin American artist Maluma is on the brink of achieving global stardom. The Colombian musician, honored with both Latin Grammy and Grammy Awards, has been residing in his modern yet inviting residence in a rural area near his hometown of Medellin. Recently, he graciously provided AD with a video tour of what he affectionately calls his “sanctuary.”
Maluma proceeds to depict his art-filled home, which he has possessed for three years and adorned with a brown and white color scheme. Reflecting on being there and appreciating his home, he expresses a sense of fulfillment, emphasizing the need to relish the culmination of his long efforts.
Expressing his desire for a house with an indoor-outdoor ambiance, Maluma’s residence fulfills that vision. The primary living space, featuring lofty ceilings and glass walls, displays a floating staircase and abundant greenery visible from every angle.
In the central seating area, a unique circular arrangement embedded in the light hardwood floor showcases a white piano, a KAWS sculpture, and equestrian-themed artwork surrounding a sculptural fire pit at the center. Maluma delights in having family dinners in this space. Another casual seating area, furnished with soft rugs and cushions, serves as a spot for playing Jenga and Uno games.
The kitchen boasts a Scandinavian aesthetic with all-white handleless cabinets. Despite having a chef in quarantine with him, Maluma insists on personally preparing his daily coffee and enjoying it on the terrace each morning from one of his numerous mugs adorned with family members’ pictures (his Versace cup collection is used less frequently).
The main floor showcases Maluma’s sophisticated design taste, while the lower level reflects his playful side. He claims it is equipped with everything needed for an active quarantine, including a frequently used Ping-Pong table, a full gym, a movie theater, a blackjack table, and more.
The backyard, accessible from the game room, features a large pool with a modern ivory-colored deck, a Һот tub, and a barbecue meat smoker. It also displays a framed collection of soccer jerseys.
