Christian von Koenigsegg: From the guy who sells plastic bags to the man who owns any supercar

Christian von Koenigsegg founded Swedish supercar business Koenigsegg. Christian von Koenigsegg sold plastic bags and frozen chicken before founding a Swedish supercar firm.

Christian grew interested in vehicles after viewing the Norwegian film Flaklypa Grand Prix (The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix). The film follows a bicycle mechanic.

It’s more than admiring automobiles on TV or radio. Christian began sketching vehicles at age six or seven. He loved Disney’s Herbie’s Volkswagen Beetle as a youngster.

Christian didn’t care about genuine cars: “At that time, I didn’t even know who Enzo Ferrari was.”

Christian and a partner won 1.5 million Krona in late 1994 to pursue his goal.

The two considered recruiting a manufacturing crew at the Olofstrom facility close to Volvo.

Mr. Christian created the first commercial supercar, the Koengisegg CC8S, in 2002. Guinness World Records named it the most powerful commercial supercar a year later. Unfortunately, this model is only created 6 times globally.

Since then, he has launched several strong supercars. Christian unveiled the One, making the world tip its hat:1. This racecar can reach 400 km/h in under 20 seconds
