Phil Foden has spent £2.85 million on a property near Wayne Rooney’s old residence. Foden, 22, formerly lived with his parents in a £2.8 million, five-bedroom mansion three minutes’ drive from his new home. Footballers and other celebrities have long preferred the area, and Rooney resided there before relocating to a £20 million mega-mansion a few miles away.

“Phil loves living in Cheshire but felt it was time to fly the nest now that he has two young children with his partner, Rebecca,” a source claimed “It’s in his old neighbourhood so they feel very settled in already.” He has also expressed a sense of ‘pressure’ to utilize his money to repay his parents for their financial assistance. In an interview with Esquire magazine this month, Foden summed up his achievements both on and off the field, stating, ‘I wanted to be able to look after my family.’
