Unveiling the Innovative 230-Foot Superyacht: Discover the Allure of a Floating Jumbo Jet

No, it’s not an animal, nor is it a jet—it’s the new 230-foot superyacht “Jet 2020” from Codecasa, featuring an aviation-inspired design. This innovative vessel marks a cross-pollination of design in the twenty-first century by merging elements of aircraft design with luxury yacht aesthetics.

Scheduled to begin construction later this year, the Jet 2020 will become the flagship of the Italian shipyard Codecasa. The visionary behind this initiative is Fulvio Codecasa, who has owned the Viareggio shipyard for the past four decades. The Codecasa family has a heritage in boat-building dating back to 1825.

While Codecasa is known for its custom yacht designs, the Jet 2020 stands out as a departure from their traditional vessels. By incorporating aircraft-inspired lines into the yacht’s hull, Codecasa aims to set a “unique example” that could potentially spark a trend.

The yacht features several aeronautical design elements, including a convex forward section and a cockpit-like steering station. The central part of the superstructure resembles an aircraft fuselage with a sundeck, while the rear portion rises to evoke the tail of an aircraft. Codecasa highlights the substantial internal volume achieved through this aviation-inspired design.

One of the yacht’s most elegant sections is the sea-level aft beach club, equipped with a lift and connected to a sky lounge. The main salon and dining room feature floor-to-ceiling windows, providing stunning panoramic views. A helipad on the roof allows owners to experience actual flight, and a double tender area that resembles a jet engine is situated along the vessel’s side for shore excursions.

The owner’s suite is located in the bow section of the main deck, while four guest cabins can be found on the lower deck. The sundeck is an expansive 66 feet by 33 feet and offers a covered gym, sunbathing areas, and a 20-foot recessed pool for outdoor relaxation.

While many technical specifications are yet to be disclosed, Codecasa mentions that the Jet 2020 will feature aviation-inspired tech elements, including radar antennas installed in a carbon-fiber superstructure designed in the style of the Boeing E-3 Sentry AWACS aircraft.

The Jet 2020 will be built to meet Lloyds and MCA specifications, enabling it to be registered under prestigious international certification flags.
