Former Oakland Raiders left guard Robert Gallery is aiming to score big with the sale of his Lake Tahoe property, listed at a value of $10.2 million on the western shore of the lake.

Gallery, now 42 years old, and his wife Becca McCann, a former University of Iowa basketball player, were captivated by the region while vacationing there during the NFL offseason. Their connection with the area led them to acquire a second home in Tahoma, California, back in 2006. This decision was made prior to Gallery’s retirement in 2012 after an eight-season career in the NFL.

In 2018, the couple made the choice to transition from the San Francisco Bay area to the unincorporated community of Homewood, California, with their three children. They embarked on the creation of a compound, collaborating with local contractors to realize their vision.

The residence, encompassing 5,670 square feet, is situated on 2.38 acres of land that adjoin US Forest Service property, ensuring a level of privacy that many homeowners desire. The architectural style melds “Tahoe lodge” elements with a touch of “modern industrial,” featuring distinctive custom steelwork, exposed wooden beams, and other wood elements. This distinctive design earned the residence the Tahoe Style award in the 2023 mountain home edition of Tahoe Quarterly.

Completed in 2020, the property consists of two dwellings: a primary house and a separate guest house with a single bedroom, bathroom, and four built-in bunk beds. The main residence showcases a generous 1,400-square-foot covered deck.
