Inside the former home with a panoramic view of New York, once owned by Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid, is currently listed for sale at $7.4 million

During their decade-long marriage, Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid once called this prewar Upper East Side apartment home. The expansive 3,000-square-foot co-op, situated on the 12th floor of 1136 Fifth Ave., is now available for purchase at a price of $7.4 million. Notably, this residence also holds sentimental value as the childhood abode of their son, Jack Quaid, now 31, who has risen to fame with his role in Amazon’s hit series “The Boys.”

The renowned actress Meg Ryan, known for her roles in iconic films like “Sleepless in Seattle,” “You’ve Got Mail,” and “When Harry Met Sally…,” jointly acquired this stylish apartment with Dennis Quaid, the actor from “The Parent Trap,” back in 1997, for a sum of $3.1 million. Unfortunately, their marital journey concluded in 2001, which led to the sale of this apartment that same year, signifying their transition to separate coasts.

Subsequently, Meg Ryan chose to reside downtown in New York City, initially settling in Soho before making her home in the prestigious Tribeca condominium at 443 Greenwich, a former book-binding factory turned A-list residence. Meanwhile, Dennis Quaid ventured to the West Coast.

Although their marriage’s dissolution was often attributed, in part, to Ryan’s affair with Russell Crowe on a film set, Quaid later acknowledged his own infidelity and struggles with Ryan’s fame, which he felt might overshadow his own.

The luxurious Fifth Avenue residence boasts an inviting eat-in chef’s kitchen, a cozy fireplace, and charming arched doorways. Large windows provide breathtaking views of Central Park and the Reservoir. With a living space spanning 3,000 square feet, the apartment features a generous 25-foot gallery that adds to its grandeur.

This handsome abode offers three bedrooms, all showcasing park views, and 2½ bathrooms. The scenic vistas from within the apartment encompass the West Side, extending across Central Park and the Reservoir. Despite the passage of time, the apartment’s allure remains, holding memories of a once-celebrated Hollywood partnership.
