I reside in Brooklyn and enjoy basketball, but I have no interest in the Brooklyn Nets. Spike Lee resides in Brooklyn and shares a comparable disdain for the borough’s NBA team. He’s a Knicks devotee, I’m a Wizards fan, and the Nets are probably the only thing we have in common. Along with an enduring love for the moving image.

The ornately decorated exterior of a building on an otherwise unremarkable residential block is likely to be encountered on a stroll through the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn (I don’t actually call it that except to save time in text messages). In 2006, Lee produced his most commercially successful film to date, with the widest theatrical release. Inside Man was a robbery film starring Clive Owen and Denzel ωαѕнιиgтσи against the expansive backdrop of Manhattan. It is the spiritual successor to iconic bank-robbing films such as Dog Day Afternoon (“Attica!”) by Sidney Lumet, and even features a couple of actors from that film in easter egg cameos. A present for cinema aficionados. ωαѕнιиgтσи is a beacon for watch aficionados, as he wears an eccentric gold watch that fits perfectly with Lee’s New York-inspired aesthetic.
