Step Inside Kawhi Leonard’s Lavish $17M Palisades Mansion

With a $103 million contract under his belt and the looming possibility of his impending free agency, Kawhi Leonard is able to reside wherever he chooses. However, the Rolls Royce-driving Clippers star opted to spend $17.1 million in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, on a luxurious, albeit somewhat conservatively designed mansion perched on a promontory with breathtaking ocean vistas.

Obviously, the 29-year-old native of Moreno Valley is no stranger to extravagant real estate purchases. Leonard still possesses a mansion in the equestrian-friendly San Diego suburb of Rancho Santa Fe, California, which he purchased for $13.3 million in 2019. And during basketball season, he resides in a $6.7 million condo at the ritzy Ritz Carlton Residences at L.A. Live, the skyscraper condo complex that towers high above the Staples Center, and where other wealthy residents include fellow professional basketball player Lonzo Ball, Lakers owner Jim Buss, and horror film maestro Jason Blum.

Leonard’s third residence is situated in a remote area of the Westside, on an enclosed and gated property.82 acres of land. The property, described as a “custom Hamptons-style home,” was designed and constructed for (in)famously brash film producer Ryan Kavanaugh, founder of bankrupt Relativity Media. In February 2019, Kavanaugh’s nearly 12,000-square-foot mansion was placed up for sale with a price tag of $25 million. After spending two years on and off the market, the asking price plummeted to $17.5 million before Leonard made an even lower offer.

Medium grey siding contrasts against white trim and copper guttering on the exterior of the house. The majority of the hotel’s public rooms offer views of the ocean and adjacent hills. A dual-sided fireplace divides the main living room from the step-down living room; both spaces have coffered ceilings and foldaway glass doors with direct access to external terraces.

There is a second fireplace in the family room, which, like many other rooms in the house, is almost entirely white and is adjacent to the enormous kitchen, which features an eat-in breakfast bar, high-end Wolf and SubZero appliances, and a distinct butler’s pantry. A formal dining area, at least one maid’s bedroom suite, and a long staircase leading to the upstairs family chambers are also located on the main floor.

The master suite is connected to a private balcony by two sets of folding glass doors. There are two walk-in closets, as well as two “couples” bathrooms with distinct rooms connected by a large glass shower with porthole-style window and multiple showerheads.
