“Maximum privacy” 91m explorer concept Project Axis revealed

Adam Voorhees, a designer based in Los Angeles, has unveiled a concept for a 91-meter explorer superyacht with “maximum privacy.”

With a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure, Project Axis features a private owner’s deck with an aft sunbathing terrace and a forward swimming pool.

The yacht’s design incorporates a total of three bathing pools across its five decks. The largest is glass-bottomed and located on the main veranda adjacent to the spa and beach club. The remaining two are located on the terrace and sun deck of the owner.

Voorhees said of the concept, “The feminine curves and undulating surfaces of Project Axis are balanced by the concept’s masculine volumes.”

The design makes maximum use of the vessel’s 14.5-foot beam, with seven VIP staterooms located on the main deck beneath the private owner’s deck to accommodate 16 guests.

When cruising at 15 knots, the diesel and electric hybrid propulsion system provides a range of 5,000 nautical miles.

“The design will incorporate the most futuristic technologies, such as power generation for onboard systems,” Voorhees added. “[The studio] intends to investigate hydrogen and other alternative fuel alternatives.”
