Live Down the Street From the Playboy Mansion for $40 Million

In Holmby Hills, a prestigious neighborhood on the Westside of Los Angeles renowned for its extravagant mansions and historic estates, a magnificent property that epitomizes the area’s reputation will be available for purchase on Friday, priced at nearly $40 million, as reported by Mansion Global.

Located just a short distance from the Playboy Mansion and in close proximity to the Spelling Manor, this soon-to-be-listed property seamlessly combines a grand, Old World European-inspired design with an abundance of modern amenities, lavish interiors, and expansive 1.5-acre grounds. The home will be listed by the Agency, in partnership with Beverly Hills Estates, with an asking price of $39.995 million.

This is not the first time the property has been on the market. It was previously listed in early 2021 for $45 million and had also been available for rent at $125,000 per month, according to listing records.

Constructed in 2019 after an extensive five-year building process, the gated residence exudes immense charm and character, as described by Zac Mostame from the Agency, who, alongside Lea Porter of Beverly Hills Estates, is overseeing the sale.

Outside, the property exudes an air of timeless elegance, transporting visitors back in time, according to Mostame. The standout feature is the domed glass atrium, reminiscent of the iconic rounded greenhouse at the New York Botanical Garden.

Moving inside, Mostame highlights that the interior is completely new. The home boasts a grand two-story foyer adorned with a pair of glass staircases that gracefully curve their way to the second floor, allowing abundant natural light to flood the entire house. Mostame describes it as truly magnificent.

Spanning three stories, the home offers seven bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. The interior features polished stone and hardwood floors throughout, complemented by soaring cathedral ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows. Additional notable amenities include a chef’s kitchen, an eight-seat theater, a 13-car underground garage, and two staff rooms.

Continuing the botanical garden theme, the meticulously manicured grounds boast beautiful gardens, a serene pond, a refreshing pool, a tennis court, and a two-story guest house.

According to previous reports from The Wall Street Journal, the home is owned by a trust associated with property investor Saeed Farkhondehpour. Public records indicate that the underlying property last changed hands in 2002 for $4.5 million.
