Jeffree Star’s Mega-Mansion Struggles to Sell: The Challenges of Finding the Right Buyer for the Hidden Hills Estate

Despite several price cuts and a media campaign, Jeffree Star, the world’s richest YouTuber, has been unable to sell his internationally famous Hidden Hills mega-mansion. The 36-year-old Orange County native has enlisted a new high-powered real estate agent, rearranged the interiors, and updated the listing images, but the new asking price of $15.5 million is $4.5 million less than what Star originally sought.

Even with a full-price offer, it is doubtful that Star will make a profit from the sale, considering the taxes, realtor costs, and the expenses of maintaining such a large property. He initially purchased the roughly three-acre estate for $14.6 million in December 2019 and conducted extensive renovations, updating all the systems and interior color scheme to a lively white-and-gold pattern with pops of garish pink and red.

The mansion’s sheer size might be a factor in the difficulty of selling it. With over 20,000 square feet of living space, two attached guesthouses, a detached “barn,” and an underground garage supposedly not included in the total square footage, it may be considered too large for potential buyers. The kitchen itself is equipped with two massive islands and numerous commercial-grade refrigerators and freezers, capable of feeding an army.

The uniqueness and grand scale of the property could be presenting a challenge in finding the right buyer for the Hidden Hills mega-mansion.
