Spectacular 72m Feadship Project Sakura Finds a New Owner in Just Six Weeks

The Dutch shipyard Feadship has announced the sale of the 71.70-foot yacht Sakura, with Burgess representing the buyer. When she entered the market six weeks ago, the new building was already under construction at the yard.

“From the moment we released information about Sakura in May of last year, several clients, including her new owner, jumped at the opportunity,” said Maarten Janssen, Feadship’s sales director. “He was attracted by the comparatively quick delivery time and the option to skip the waiting list. He adored the exterior and interior design, and the yacht’s configuration for family use was precisely what he desired. In other terms, a perfect fit.

Richard Lambert, director of sales at Burgess, added, “It has been a pleasure to work closely with the new owner and Feadship on the Sakura project, and we look forward to a continued close collaboration for the completion of this stunning new build.”

Sakura, named after the Japanese cherry blossom, combines East and West in a marriage of “Scandinavian coziness” and “Japanese minimalism,” according to the yard. Guests boarding from the swim platform can either ascend the staircase to enter the yacht from the main deck – complete with a seven-metre swimming pool – or, at the touch of a button, the steps open to reveal a wellness area at the heart of the vessel, accessible via the beach club and main staircase.

The interior of Sakura, which was designed by the Italian firm FM Architetto d’Interni, embraces the “Japandi” style through the use of contemporary furnishings decorated with earthy tones. In a series of renderings released by the shipyard, the formal dining and leisure areas are positioned longitudinally along the main deck saloon, increasing the capacity for onboard social gatherings.

Seven cabins, including two VIP suites and four additional staterooms on the main deck that have been strategically positioned to maximize the quantity of natural light entering each cabin, are available for guests. The master suite is located on a private terrace with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide panoramic views.

On the sundeck’s upper level, there is a second pool with large sunpads and a large aft deck for dining and lounging beneath a large overhang.
