Rapper Rick Ross Unveils His First Private Jet, and No, It Didn’t Cost $5 BιIIιоn

Rick Ross has long since transitioned from successful rapper to business magnate. If there are still people unaware of it, he is more than happy to bring them up to speed with his constant posting and flexing on social media, where he takes viewers into the Rich Boss lifestyle, filled with luxury goods ranging from custom automobiles to diamond jewelry and designer clothes stacked more impressively than in a boutique.

Aside from the irony, the only thing more remarkable than Rick Ross’s alleged commitment to being an inspirational example by flaunting is his luxury automobile. It includes everything from the newest customized vehicles to rare antiques, either in original condition or restomodded to a specific theme, as well as motorcycles and bicycles – a total of over 100 items stored across the United States. In recent years, Ross has hosted an annual car meet at his Florida mansion that has evolved into an extravaganza combining the finest aspects of an auto show and a massive rave with opulent prizes for fellow car enthusiasts.

Until late last week, Ross lacked nothing other than a private aircraft. He now does, and he made certain that his millions of admirers and followers knew directly from him. He posted videos and photographs of the custom jet on the tarmac and referred to it as “a $5 billion play,” leading many to erroneously believe he had paid that amount for it.

Even if he had this kind of money, which he does not, he could not have done so. The aircraft is a 2012 Gulfstream G 550 with twin Rolls-Royce engines and a Duncan Aviation custom paint work. The “$5 billion play” refers to Ross’s strategy to secure his position as a future billionaire. He also explains that, unlike other celebrities who had a wrap on their aircraft, he opted for a fresh coat of paint because he didn’t want to deal with the letters peeling off.

The G 550 now features “RICK RO$$” lettering in rose gold on a black background along with the Maybach Music Group logo on the rear bumper. The registration number N676AS indicates that the rapper purchased the vehicle for Maybach AIR LLC in April of this year, so he has likely been awaiting the completion of the customization before the big reveal.

“The limit is the sky… Maybach Airlines Ross announced on his Instagram Stories that he was “reaching new heights” and invited his followers to join him on his future travels around the globe. We presume not in the literal sense.
