Rapper The Kid Laroi Splurges Millions on LA Home, Where He and Katarina Deme Bask in Love

The publication of his explicit debut mixtape “F*ck Love” in 2020, led by the smash hit single “Without You,” catapulted him to international prominence. Since then, the Kid Laroi’s popularity has only grown. “Stay,” a 2021 collaboration between the 19-year-old and fellow pop phenomenon Justin Bieber, topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for seven non-consecutive weeks, and he is presently managed by music mogul Scooter Braun.

Laroi has relocated from Australia to Los Angeles due to his thriving career. After a period of renting in the Trousdale Estates neighborhood of Beverly Hills, he reportedly purchased a home in the Encino hills last year. On its half-acre property, the authentic mansion offers more than 6,000 square feet of living space and is located within a guard-gated community.

Additionally, Laroi’s new home has a rock-star-related pedigree. Perla Hudson, the ex-wife of legendary Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, sold it to him. This transaction appears to have been quite profitable for Hudson; she purchased the home in 2017 for $3.5 million and sold it to Laroi five years later for a substantial profit of $5.5 million.

Of course, Hudson did give the place a very extensive and pricey renovation, transforming the somewhat grandmotherly residence into a slick cornucopia of high-end finishes and modern furnishings. There are a few colorful accents, such as Irish green couches and mauve curtains, dispersed throughout the predominantly black-and-white space.

The 1991 mansard-roofed, French Normandy-inspired home is completely walled and gated for added privacy. Behind mature trees and a verdant lawn, the building features an open floor plan highlighted by a double-height entryway and a winding main staircase. There is a second staircase in the living room, which also features a fireplace made of marble and a stylish wet bar.

Other features include a brand-new kitchen with vast amounts of counter space, a family room with a stacked-stone fireplace, a dining room with approximately 10,000 Elvis wallpaper heads, and an upstairs master retreat with a seating area, private balcony, and opulent bathroom. Four additional bedroom accommodations are dispersed throughout the two-story home, but the property’s best feature is arguably the breathtaking views of the verdant surrounding hills.

And for entertaining, the backyard swimming pool is surrounded by a variety of terraces and covered patios, with glass walls blurring the distinction between indoor and outdoor living in a manner that is quintessentially Southern Californian.
