Daroca Design and SP.9 Studio Reveal 50m Odisye Concept

SP.9, a London-based design firm, collaborated with Daroca Design, a Spanish studio, on a 50-meter superyacht concept named Odisye. The design of the project is characterised by a “Yin/Yang approach” that combines sporty exteriors with gentle and sophisticated interiors.

Alejandro Crespo, founder and CEO of Daroca, stated regarding the design specification, “Odisye was created with the modern yacht owner in mind. Elegant and vivacious, the exterior design of the concept reflects the mindset of this new generation.

Four distinct decks cascade down the concept’s rear side. The sundeck features a Jacuzzi and bar, while the bridge deck aft has a large al fresco table that accommodates 16 guests for formal lunches and dinners or meetings.

The main deck has soft seating for socialising in a more leisurely setting, whereas the beach club has a TV lounge at sea level with a 360-degree view of the ocean. Odiseye’s bow is steeply angled, and its dark blue and anthracite metallic coloured hull creates a distinctive exterior profile.

The interiors of SP.9 evoke a sense of tranquilly with their muted, inviting colour scheme.

“I was inspired by the strong personalities of the new owners, who love the antithesis of sporty chic and curvilinear elegance with a touch of ancestral artistry,” said Pei Li, the creative director of SP.9.

The main saloon has a marble floor that reflects light along the ceiling and a spacious sofa and dining table in the rear. Separated by a translucent glass wall, the adjacent wine sampling room is a private sanctuary that complements the airy atmosphere of the interiors.

Ten visitors are accommodated in five cabins, including a master cabin, three VIP guest cabins, and a twin cabin. All exhibit a meticulous selection of textures and materials, such as green obsidian, leather panels, and embroidered silk.
