Kendrick Lamar has resided in the seaside community of Manhattan Beach for many years. After renting for many years, the renowned rapper and songwriter purchased a brand-new mansion there three years ago, just two short blocks from the shore and the ocean. He has recently purchased a traditional-style residence in the prestigious East Gate neighborhood of Bel Air.

According to public records, Lamar paid $15.9 million for his new estate, nearly the complete asking price. Built-in the early 1950s and designed by renowned L.A. architect Edward Fickett, the cream-colored wood and brick-accented structure has been extensively “renovated” and enlarged since then and now comprises a main house and two-story guesthouse with a total of seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms in just over 8,000 square feet of living space.

Lamar’s new home is hidden away behind walls and gates on a nearly three-quarter-acre parcel of land with a two-car garage and additional parking space for up to eight vehicles tucked to the side. A previous rental listing depicts a spacious living/dining area with warm hardwood floors, a masonry fireplace, and access to a covered terrace, despite the lack of current MLS images.

In addition, there is an atrium-like family room that connects to a modern kitchen with an eat-in island, stainless steel appliances, a butler’s pantry, and an adjacent breakfast room. In addition to an office/library, a movie theater, a wine cellar, and a gym, the private master retreat has a fireplace-side sitting area and a large bathroom with dual vanities and a clawfoot soaking tub. The master retreat is secluded down a long corridor.

Outdoors, the grassy and enclosed grounds feature a swimming pool and spa surrounded by a sundeck, koi pond, and an al fresco dining area. In addition to his homes in Bel Air and Manhattan Beach, Lamar possesses a Calabasas residence that has been occupied by members of his family for many years.
