Calvin Harris’ Transformed Benedict Canyon Estate Hits the Market for $25 Million

This estate’s exterior is deceptive. The listing, held by high-end specialists Josh and Matt Altman of the Altman Brothers Team at Douglas Elliman, says the decor has been radically eroticized with “premier craftsmanship… and the finest materials.”

The bespoke herringbone hardwood flooring, “floating” bookcases, exposed brick walls, and quartz staircase are only the beginning.

Calvin Harris, a wealthy DJ, paid for the expensive upgrades. The then-new compound was dull and basic when he bought it in 2014.

But hefty improvements changed that. Harris can afford it, having earned $110 miℓℓio𝚗 in 2013 and 2014 and $129 miℓℓio𝚗 in 2015 and 2016.

Benedict Canyon, a five-building property in the rough slopes above Beverly Hills, is hidden by large gates, heavy trees, and a long driveway. The four-bedroom main house has a two-story guesthouse with two recording studios.

The property includes a security facility for a full-time bodyguard, a five-car detached garage connected to an upstairs movie theater, and a state-of-the-art gym.

The magnificent eucalyptus trees shade the large outdoor pool. The “entertainer’s dream” backyard has a custom pergola with a BBQ center, a sports court, and an outdoor lounge with a fireplace, according to the description. The hillside property has various gardens and a solar dome.

Harris spent $15 miℓℓio𝚗 for the estate eight years ago, so if he gets anything near his $25 million asking price, he will certainly win, even with the expensive improvements.

Despite his music career, the 38-year-old Scottish DJ has struggled with real estate. He lost more than half a miℓℓio𝚗 dollars on the sale of his Brentwood property, and he barely broke even on two Hollywood Hills estates, one near Bird Streets and one just sold to Charli XCX.

Harris, born Adam Wiles, just bought “the biggest organic farm on all Ibiza” on the Spanish island of Ibiza. The Harris estate produces eggs, wine, veggies, and farm-to-table meals with an army of farmers and chefs.

Harris has a $13.8 miℓℓio𝚗 vacant lot in Bel Air’s hills, but it’s unclear if he’ll stay in Los Angeles after selling the 90210 house.
