On a 1.39-acre lot in guard-gated Hidden Hills, the large house cost the NBA player $12.5 мιIIιоn, a hefty figure that was surpassed with the help of an almost $9 мιIIιоn mortgage.
Howard Keyes, the former proprietor of the Keyes Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai, and Honda stores in Van Nuys, California, paid $9 мιIIιоn in 2010 for a home inspired by the traditional architecture of the East Coast that was constructed in 2010.
80-year-old Keyes reportedly spent little time at the property. From 2014 to 2017, the vacant home was listed for sale at prices ranging from $8.7 мιIIιоn to $10.7 мιIIιоn, but no buyer was interested. When the mansion was relisted this year for $13 мιIIιоn, it didn’t take Thompson long to call.
