Discover the Spectacular 217-Foot Trimaran Concept Inspired by Noah’s Ark

Aras Kazar has just given Noah’s Ark a biblical facelift.

The European yacht designer, who has been creating “minimalist and futuristic” yacht designs for the past decade, has unveiled a new trimaran design inspired by the boat that saved Noah, his family, and a few animals from the biblical deluge. Kazar specifically acknowledges the legendary ark’s ability to withstand a violent tempest.

Kazar stated via email to Robb Report, “I wanted to create something unique and nearly indestructible.”

The new multihull, named Noy, is a far departure from the boats that sailed the oceans thousands of years ago. It is 66 meters long and has a sleek, angular appearance reminiscent of a spacecraft. “I prefer straight lines to curves,” Kazar explains.

The sturdy vessel’s extra-wide beam of 249 feet (76 meters) ensures excellent seakeeping, even in the face of enormous seas. In addition, Noy is outfitted with an electric propulsion system and the most advanced hydrofoil technology. As the yacht accelerates into the foiling mode, its wings extend to elevate it out of the water for high-speed, smooth navigation. Noy reportedly has a maximum speed of 24 miles.

Kazar explains that the flatness and extreme width of this enormous trimaran, combined with hydrofoil technology, ensure that it will always remain upright.

This is not the only piece of modern technology. The metallic roof of Noy is equipped with solar panels that generate pure, environmentally friendly energy to power the electric motors and onboard amenities. This means that as long as the sun is beaming, the trimaran could essentially sail independently of the power grid.

The extensive use of glass in the overheads and bulkheads will provide panoramic views, the designer says, although Kazar did not provide any renderings of the interior. The living accommodations feature three generous owner’s staterooms and six well-appointed guest cabins. There are accommodations for up to sixteen crew members. One concern remains: Is there room for pets as well?
