The first 58-meter SeaXplorer built by Damen Yachting was observed undergoing sea trials in the Mediterranean under the name Pink Shadow. She is the first SeaXplorer model to be constructed at the yard’s Antalya location in Turkey, where construction on the custom explorer commenced on a whim.
The yacht was sold during construction, and the new owner was able to provide “considerable input” into the interior design in collaboration with the British studio Design Unlimited. Azure Yacht Design has designed the exterior, and design partner EYOS Expeditions has made numerous contributions.
Pink Shadow was introduced in January 2023 and will be shipped in the upcoming months.
According to the shipyard, the proprietor intends to use the yacht for “globetrotting exploration” and its range at 11.5 knots is 5,000 nautical miles. An ice-class hull and 30 days of autonomy will facilitate her excursions, while eco-focused features such as large waste tanks will allow her to cruise in environmentally sensitive areas without leaving a tгаϲe.
Pink Shadow will transport an assortment of toys and tenders, including two multi-use tenders, motorcycles, and on- and off-road vehicles. She also possesses an 11,4-meter sail sailing yacht.
When not investigating, guests can enjoy the cabana-style bar, lounge, and infinity-edged pool on the lower deck. There is an alternative leisure area with a Jacuzzi, sky lounge, and dining area on the bridge deck, and the yacht features the SeaXplorer signature observation lounge in the bow.
The 1,090GT megayacht can accommodate twelve guests in six cabins and has a complement of fifteen crew members plus two expedition personnel. The yacht’s interior will “celebrate the spirit of exploration” and feature “very personal and intriguing” themes, according to the shipyard.
Regarding the new vessel, SeaXplorer design manager Enrique Tintore stated, “We are very pleased with how the sea trials are proceeding and look forward to delivering this SeaXplorer to the proprietor in the near future. She performed well and looked fantastic on her maiden voyage and is a yacht with a striking color scheme and design features.”
The crew will now focus on the first SeaXplorer 60, which is scheduled for delivery in the spring of 2024, he added.
The new 60-meter SeaXplorer 60 will be more environmentally friendly thanks to Hybrid by Amels technology. This feature enables electric propulsion at speeds up to seven knots, which is said to substantially reduce noise, vibration, and emissions.
Pink Shadow will be the third SeaXplorer yacht delivered by Damen Yachting, following the SeaXplorer 62 Anawa and the SeaXplorer 77 La Datcha.
