Inside Shaquille O’Neal’s $27M ‘Dunkman’ Private Jet: Luxury and Concerns About Seat Sizes

Shaquille O’Neal, NBA legend, recently acquired an opulent $27 million private jet named ‘Dunkman,’ raising concerns among fans who noticed the seemingly compact seat sizes.

The lavish interior of the white jet boasts wood paneling and cream leather seating, accommodating up to 12 people with a range of 4,000 nautical miles. Adding a personalized touch, the aircraft’s tailplane proudly displays Shaq’s Dunkman insignia.

Contrary to his stance in a 2010 interview where he expressed hesitancy about owning a private plane due to maintenance concerns, O’Neal seems to have had a change of heart. In a recent statement to Jetset magazine, he said, “No, I don’t believe that. There’s too much maintenance. I like to be informed about things I own because I don’t want to be taken advantage of in a bad deal.”

With an estimated net worth of $400M, O’Neal emphasized that he didn’t acquire the private jet to flaunt his wealth, a practice he acknowledged some athletes engage in.

However, fans have raised eyebrows over the perceived snugness of the seats, suggesting that O’Neal, standing at seven-foot-one and weighing around 340 pounds, might find them too small. Some jokingly recommended larger aircraft models like the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner or the Airbus A380 to better accommodate the basketball giant. In comparison, fellow NBA player Michael Jordan recently opted for a $61M Gulfstream private jet for his travels to Europe.
