However, one of the most breathtaking vacations was Idris Elba’s visit to the Maldives.

The Hobbs & Shaw star, along with his wife Sabrina, sought refuge at One&Only Reethi Rah in the Maldives, residing in one of the resort’s overwater villas. Situated on one of the largest private islands in North Malé Atoll, Elba’s villa is accessible via high-stilted wooden walkways. The one-bedroom retreat, perched above the Indian Ocean, boasts a spacious layout with a living area, dining space, and a spa-like bathroom, seamlessly blending local and Balinese themes into its design.

The exterior of the villa is striking, while the interior exudes a sophisticated tranquility. Elba enjoyed a private infinity pool with catamaran nets, providing an ideal spot for relaxation that harmonizes with the stunning surroundings. 

Embracing the concept of indoor-outdoor living, the villa features a separate balcony with a daybed overlooking the beach, an outdoor dining area for candlelit dinners, and an outdoor shower. For the Cats star, direct lagoon access was undoubtedly the cherry on top.

During his stay, the English actor relished a romantic private dinner at Tapasake restaurant, unwound at the chic Rah Bar, explored the resort’s surroundings on a bicycle, and lounged on the fine sandy beaches. Elba, known for his passion for soccer, actively participated in the One&Only Festive Football Tournament. To add a memorable touch to an already amazing trip, he surprised fellow guests by performing as a DJ on New Year’s Eve.
