Big Sean and Nipsey Hussle’s ‘Deep Reverence’ Nominated for Best Rap Performance at the Grammys, Pays Tribute to Late Rapper in Moving Video.
To pay homage to Nipsey Hussle, the Detroit rapper traversed Los Angeles, visiting various paintings, murals, and basketball courts dedicated to the late artist. Seeking guidance and connection, he cruised around town with West Coast legend Snoop Dogg, who was driving a sapphire blue lowrider.
The accompanying video, serving as a tribute to Nipsey Hussle’s impactful life, features special appearances by artists who collaborated with him, including Dom Kennedy and “Hit-Boy.” Released more than six months after its initial launch in August 2020, the bittersweet video follows Nipsey’s tragic shooting outside his Marathon Clothing store in March 2019.
Expressing gratitude to Nipsey Hussle, Big Sean stated, “To one of the truest, most grounded people ever, @nipseyhussle! Thank you, my friend! You always bless us all! It’s deeper than 4Life, it’s 4ever.”
