Lil Wayne has recently completed the sale of his oceanfront property in Miami Beach, Florida, for a substantial sum of $22.583 million, as reported by Cyril Matz, the listing agent from Douglas Elliman. The renowned rapper, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., originally acquired the modern residence in 2018 for $16.75 million, as indicated by property records. Although initially listed for $29.5 million in September, the property underwent price reductions to $28 million before finding a buyer.
Matz, who managed the transaction, chose not to disclоse the identity of the new owner. Attempts to reach Lil Wayne for comments were unsuccessful.
Situated on Allison Island in Biscayne Bay, the property features a private dock and approximately 110 feet of ocean frontage. The house, constructed in 2017, encompasses seven bedrooms and spans around 10,600 square feet. Notable interior features include a home theater with suede wall coverings and a mahogany-paneled foyer. Sliding glass doors provide access to the expansive garden with a sizable pool.
Facing west and offering views of La Gorce Island, the property occupies one of the larger lots on Allison Island, covering approximately 0.5 acres. Matz contends that the size and location make it a strong contender for the title of the best lot on the island.
Despite a 66.7% decrease in sales of high-end single-family homes on Miami Beach in the fourth quarter of 2021, the market remains robust, with correctly priced properties in desirable locations selling well. The current owner, a New Orleans native, previously owned a Miami Beach residence featuring a shark lagoon and rooftop skate park, selling it in 2017 for a $10 million profit.
As Lil Wayne bid farewell to his Miami Beach mansion, he reflected on the memories created within its walls – from lively parties to moments of solitude.
The sale marks the end of an era, with Lil Wayne acknowledging the mansion’s significance as more than just a residence. It served as a symbol of his success and a sanctuary from the demands of the world.
As new owners take possession, Lil Wayne leaves behind a legacy, knowing that the mansion will continue to be a landmark in Miami Beach, preserving the memories of a significant chapter in his life.
