Usher recently sold the mansion he acquired at the outset of his career for $1.5 million. The 39-year-old rapper reportedly received $1.1 million less than his initial asking price for the Alpharetta, Georgia residence, as per Realtor.com.
In a 2003 episode of How I’m Living, the U Remind Me singer shared his lifelong dream of owning the house, eventually purchasing it seven years later. Usher, also known as Usher Raymond IV, disclosed on a BET program that he first laid eyes on the property when it was owned by music producer L.A. Reid. At the time, the Moesha actress expressed her aspiration, stating, “One day, I want to own a house like this.”
Spanning over 8000 square feet, the home features seven bedrooms and eight and a half bathrooms.
The property boasts additional amenities, including a private dance studio, a yoga studio, and a climate-controlled treehouse. Usher described the master bedroom as “really elegant, yet very warm” in a 2003 interview.
Unfortunately, the musician’s Los Angeles house, currently listed for $4.2 million, was burglarized in late March. According to The Blast, thieves stole cash and jewelry valued at $820,000.
Despite the presence of security cameras, the burglars took the tapes, making it challenging to identify them. The Los Angeles house, with 4,261 square feet, features a swimming pool and is located above the Sunset Strip on a hill.
Following Usher and his wife Grace Miguel’s separation announcement in March, the house has been put up for sale.
