The sight of Burna Boy’s mansion design elicits a resounding “wow!” Located in the heart of Lagos, Nigeria, the Grammy-winning artist’s seven-bedroom residence, conceptualized by architect Akose Enebeli, is a striking testament to Burna’s distinctive taste and global lifestyle.
Spanning an expansive 13,000 square feet over two stories in Lekki, this architectural marvel stands as an oasis of tranquility within the vibrant energy of Lagos. The exterior, adorned in calming tones of beige and gray, conceals within it a world of modern luxury. With features like lofty ceilings, a personal theater, lounges, and a game room, every aspect of the mansion exudes opulence. Meticulous design is showcased through tall windows and ample garage space.
Divided into two sections, the 3,700 square foot edifice optimizes natural light and functionality. One section encompasses a recording studio, gym, and accommodations for guest artists, fostering a vibrant space for creativity. The other, a more private realm, houses Burna’s principal bedroom suite, a personal terrace, and a cozy gathering spot for close companions.
The downstairs area fosters a seamless, open flow between rooms, with the absence of doors. The main living room, offering panoramic views of manicured gardens, serves as a focal point for Burna’s artistic pursuits and social gatherings.
Inspired by the serene ambiance of the lagoons and creeks of his hometown, Port Harcourt, Burna sought to evoke a similar feeling in his residence. Describing the design, he notes, “I have a lot of Rivers stuff, water noises. It’s very water-inspired, that’s all. It’s serene. Nature communicates with me.”
Internally, the preference for all-white walls provides a canvas for Burna’s curated art collection. Unique pieces such as enormous golden insect parts, a half-horse marble sculpture, a female bust, and the Throne of Grace from Lagos’s Throne of Grace contribute distinctive touches. An eye-catching bicycle artwork by Atelier 225 completes the ensemble, turning Burna’s Lagos residence into a true masterpiece that mirrors the convergence of nature, art, and the artist himself.
