EMILY RATAJKOWSKI has often shown glimpses of her humble Los Angeles abode to her 29.2 million Instagram followers. But now the supermodel and My Body author has offered a more in-depth look at her property.
Ratajkowski is selling her home of four years with her husband, and now the father of her child, music producer Sebastian Bear-McClard for $2.2 million. The midcentury property, located in LA’s East, Echo Park, was originally purchased for $2 million back in 2018 — meaning Ratajkowski will make a tidy little profit if the sale is successful.
Described as a “private midcentury compound … in the highly desirable Elysian Heights section of Echo Park,” the effortlessly cool Californian residence features two post and beam structures. The first of which was reportedly built back in 1946, while the second was designed in 1963. A modernist theme flows throughout with wood-paneled ceilings in the light-filled living area and exposed wooden beams in an attached guest house or “cottage studio.”
Despite retaining its swinging ’60s aesthetic, modern updates are evident amongst fixtures and fittings in its two bedrooms, three bathrooms — with dual vanity in the ensuite — and kitchen area. An additional loft-like living space upstairs overlooks the ground floor and leads to the guest bedroom and accompanying bathroom.
Outside, a terraced yard hosts an array of leafy and lush plants and cacti and connects the guest house — as well as an outdoor dining area. Stairs lead down to the rest of the expansive yard of the 2,000-square-foot property, with highlights including additional seating areas, a tub, and an LA signature — a bohemian-styled fire pit.
