After recovering from i𝚗jᴜry, Deshaun Watson received a $5.4M mansion in Hunting Valley from the club and made a comeback to the game

DeShaun Watson, the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, has acquired a residence in Hunting Valley for $5.4 million, situated on 5.79 acres.

The property was prchased through Roadrunner Properties of Ohio LLC, with Watson securing a $3.8 million mortgage from Morgan Stanley, signed on October 31 as the manager of Roadrunner Properties.

Despite serving an 11-game suspension and paying a $5 million fine imposed by the NFL due to 30 lawsuits alleging sеxal assault during his time with the Houston Texans, Watson returned to practice on November 16. He was never criminally charged and was traded to the Cleveland Browns, signing a five-year, $230-million contract in March.

The rеal estate transaction for the SOM Center Road propеrty closed on November 2, with the house initially listed at $6.9 million.

Watson bought the home from Todd Leebow, CEO of Majestic Steel, who acquired the property in 2017 for $4.8 million from Cathy Horton. Leebow was represented by David Ayers of the Young Team of Moreland Hills, while Watson’s agent was Nicole Ward, the mother of Browns’ cornerback Denzel Ward.

The property’s taxable market valuе, as of 2021, was $4.8 million according to the Cuyahoga County Auditor’s Office, with taxes amounting to $120,556.20 that year.

Built in 2006 and “reimagined” in 2021, the 17,241-square-foot colonial-style estate features five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a 2,800-square-foot fitness center, and a gourmet kitchen. Additional amenities include a fishing pond, pool, tennis and volleyball courts, multiple patios, and a first-floor master suite with a dressing room and office.

The house also boasts a fourth-floor cigar and tasting room with access to a terrace offering sweeping views, while the lower club level includes a 12-seat theater, gaming area, full bar, and walkout patio. A carriage house on the property provides parking and additional living space.

David Ayers created a 2-minute and 42-second video showcasing the property, featuring the staging efforts of the Interior Marketing Group of New York City.

Notable past owners of the property include Paul J. Hummer, Garry B. and Dorothy S. Curtiss, and the Curtiss Family Limited Partnership.

Hunting Valley Mayor Bruce Mavec expressed excitement about the celebrity resident but mentioned not having met Watson as of November 18. He welcomed new homeowners to Hunting Valley, hoping Watson would have a pleasant experience and be embraced by the community.
