Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy recently moved into a seven-bedroom residence in Lagos, Nigeria’s bᴜstling commercial and artistic hub, at the beginning of 2020. The two-story mansion in Lekki, designed by Burna’s architect Akose Enebeli, was crafted to be his personal abode.

Upon witnessing Enebeli’s plans for his future home, Burna expressed his excitement, stating that it “blew his mind.” With residences around the world, Burna, a renowned Nigerian singer, composer, and rapper, was captivated by the design, exclaiming “wow” repeatedly, according to Enebeli.

Enebeli’s design is a tranquil 13,000 square foot sanctuary amidst the vibrant city of Lagos, which boasts a population of 20 million. The spacious building features a serene beige and gray facade, embodying modern luxury living. It includes high ceilings, a private theater, lounges, and a game room. The design also incorporates tall windows and ample garage space.

The 3,700 square foot structure, divided into two sections, maximizes natural light, offering a recording studio, gym, and guest artist accommodations in one area. The other section is a more private space for Burna, comprising his primary bedroom suite, private terrace, and a gathering area for close friends.

The downstairs rooms seamlessly flow into one another without doors, creating a continuous and open space. Notably, the main living room opens to a large window overlooking manicured gardens.

Burna, born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, drew inspiration from the tranquility of the lagoons, creeks, and flora of the region, aiming to replicate this in the entire compound. He emphasizes the water-inspired and serene nature of the house, stating that nature communicates with him.

The interior of the house features all-white walls, and Burna adorned it with significant acquisitions such as enormous golden insect parts, a half-horse marble sculpture, a female bᴜst, and the Throne of Grace from Lagos’s Throne of Grace. The bicycle artwork was crafted by Atelier 225.
