Power Couple JAY-Z and Beyoncé Make History with Record-Breɑking Purchɑse of California’s Most Expensive Home
After paying a king’s ransom, Jay-Z and Beyoncé have just acquired a 30,000-square-foot mansion in the prime Malibu neighbourhood, one of the country’s greatest architectural marvels.
According to real estate sources who spoke with TMZ, the couple paid $200 million for the property, shattering the previous record of $177 million in California and making it the most expensive home ever sold. It’s also the country’s second most costly real estate deal, behind only an apartment in New York City that cost $238 million.
It’s a work of art in architecture as well, created by the renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando, who is also working on Kanye West’s Malibu mansion.
A world-renowned art collector, William Bell, owned and constructed the house. The all-concrete structure took Bell nearly fifteen years to construct.
