The construction of Cristiano Ronaldo’s extravagant mansion in Portugal has caused a great deal of unhappiness among the locals who live nearby. The massive project, which is expected to be the most expensive home in the country, has upset the peace in the neighborhood by causing damage to private properties and streets during construction.

Located not far from Lisbon in Cascais, the estimated $22 million estate is expected to be finished by 2024. The mansion, which is spread over four stories and has been tastefully furnished by the Ronaldo family, is adorned with lavish features that provide expansive views of Portugal’s scenic landscapes from each of its four luxurious suites.

The planned opulent amenities, which included a movie theater, fitness center, tennis court, and two garages to store Ronaldo’s enormous collection of more than 20 luxury vehicles, were leaked to MARCA by Ok Diario.

But growing budgetary pressures and longer construction schedules have made neighbors even more irate, as they are fed up with the ongoing project’s protracted disruption.

“The construction took three years of our lives. The mansion’s sheer size makes it resemble a hospital. One displeased neighbor told Ok Diario, “My street has been impassable for months, and my garden is covered in dust—all because of the ‘pyramid’ of Pharaoh Ronaldo.”

Although it is expected to be finished by the middle of 2024, there are hints that Ronaldo might not go back to Portugal until the end of his contract with Al Nassr in June 2025, which would be in line with his stated intention to retire at 40.

Ronaldo’s dream home has become a source of tension, overshadowing his lavish return plans to Portugal, as tensions grow between the disgruntled neighborhood and his ambitious architectural endeavor.
