Michael Rubin, the CEO of Fanatics, decided to have a housewarming celebration for his $50 million residence in Bridgehampton in 2021. The tradition has continued for the previous two years with a star-studded event that has become the place to see and be seen each summer, and this year was no exception.
The billionaire’s now-famous white party took place over the recent Fourth of July holiday, and visitors included Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lopez, Odell Beckham Jr., Usher, and Kim Kardashian, all of whom donned some outstanding watches.
Let’s go over five of the most out-of-the-ordinary timepieces observed at this party.
Jay Z, who was wearing his famed vintage yellow gold Patek Philippe Ref. 2499/101J, was among the A-list visitors in attendance. Only 349 perpetual calendar chronograph models were ever produced, all between 1950 and 1985. However, the famed rapper’s specific configuration is even more unique, with only four instances ever manufactured. While the actual worth of Jay Z’s model is unknown, a pink gold variant of the Ref. 2499 sold at Sotheby’s for $7.7 million last year.
Kevin Hart, another celebrity at the white party, chose to wear his yellow gold Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar for the occasion. Rather than one of his more daring models, Hart wore a Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar with a white dial cast in solid yellow gold to the event. The model is available secondhand for just north of six figures—a reseller is asking $118,000 for the version shown above via Chrono24.
Kylian Mbappe was also present at Rubin’s Hamptons event. The limited-edition Hublot Spirit of Big Bɑng Sapphire worn by the French professional soccer star was a perfect match for the monochrome motif. The limited-edition model he chose for the white celebration costs roughly $65,000.
Another famous athlete on Rubin’s invitation list was Tom Brady. He took the white motif literally, wearing a white dial Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 for the occasion. Brady is also an avid watch collector with a large collection; on this occasion, he chose the stainless steel 5711 with a white dial. This particular variation of the highly sought-after reference can be found on the secondary market for around $100,000.
Many of the top celebrities at Rubin’s white party, including Corey Gɑmble, seemed to favor Patek Philippe. Gɑmble is a devotee of the famed Swiss watchmaker, and his collection includes everything from the rose gold Nautilus Travel Time with a blue dial to the platinum Grand Complication Celestial Emerald. The successful talent manager wore a rose gold Patek Philippe Grand Complication with a black dial to this celebration, which stood out against the white backdrop. In the used market, this watch currently sells for roughly a quarter of a million dollars.
