It boasts extravagant amenities such as a glow-in-the-dark basketball court and a nearly 2-square-meter skylight pyramid. The Manor House somewhat reflects the owner’s flamboyant personality.Instead of covering the walls with shiny gypsum and furnishing the space with opulent yet generic furniture, Drake sought something different for his home. He enlisted the services of Canadian architect and interior designer Ferris Rafauli to create rooms that exude exquisite craftsmanship, featuring materials such as limestone, bronze, rare woods, and other precious materials. In an interview, Drake remarked, “This is a project in my hometown, so I want it to stand for 100 years. I want it to be a monumental-scale thing, and I can feel that. It’s one of those things I’ll leave behind for the world, so it has to be strong and timeless.”The residence draws inspiration from traditional Beaux Arts architecture, distilling and abstracting to imbue classical essence while still emanating a contemporary spirit. In form, materials, and construction processes, it evokes the 19th-century limestone castles. However, the exterior configuration is more minimalistic, with cleaner lines. Rafauli describes the interior as “crazysexycool,” resembling modern Art Deco art, once again referencing a classic historical style adjusted and rejuvenated to reflect both the era’s spirit and his upscale clientele’s DNA.Drake emphasizes, “Once you commit to a particular style, you dance with that style. This house symbolizes the epitome of luxury. That message is conveyed through the room sizes, materials, floor details, and ceiling. I want to ensure people see it as a residential work of art that I’ve been dreaming about for years.”Indeed, the scale of the rooms sets the tone for a family-centric experience. From the moment you step into the foyer of the house, you’ll enjoy leisurely steps and be pleasantly surprised by the solid limestone walls and floors adorned with Nero Marquina marble slabs designed beneath the ceiling. The grand room, towering at 4.1 meters, features a bespoke Bösendorfer grand piano at the end of the space, framed by a copper-trimmed antique mirror. Drake’s world is really filled with music, delivering a genuine artistic experience. The focal point of the grand room lies in the iconic Metropolitan chandelier by Lobmeyr, designed by Hans Harald Rath to adorn the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Featuring 20,000 hand-cut Swarovski crystals, this radiant light sculpture is the second-largest installation of its kind in the world. One of Drake’s favorite spaces in the house is the expansive bedroom, covering nearly 300 square meters, with a rooftop terrace spanning 102 square meters. The bedroom serves as Drake’s sanctuary, allowing him to escape the outside world at the end of the night and embark on a joy-filled life every morning. The bathroom is a place of relaxation and detachment from thoughts, while the closet inspires self-reflection as he contemplates in his new attire. The bed and its frame weigh approximately a ton and cost more than an average house. The bed’s headboard stands out with an antique mirror and premium leather upholstery, featuring a built-in whisky cabinet and a billiards set. The headboard is adorned with herringbone inlay, and the bed linens are complemented by an Alexander McQueen rug from the Rug Company. The house also features the world’s most luxurious recording studio, a kitchen adorned with the latest offerings from La Cornue, an award-winning room narrating Drake’s journey from childhood to adulthood, and an indoor swimming pool encased in sparkling black granite…
