Comedian Marlon Wayans Owns $15.4M Modern Farmhouse and Plants Roots There

The actor Marlon Wayans can guffaw all the way to his brand-new Encino, California, modern farmhouse.

Recently, he paid $5,300,000 for the magnificent residence in the San Fernando Valley.

The home was originally listed for $5,395,000 in November, so Wayans received a slight discount, especially considering the competitive market in the Los Angeles area, where bidding wars frequently drive prices above the asking price.

In October 2020, the property was previously sold for $1,6 million as a complete demolition and reconstruction. One of the most exquisite residences north of Ventura Boulevard was completed late last year after construction commenced.

“Located in the celebrity enclave of Encino’s Amestoy Estates, this property has every feature and amenity imaginable,” says Carol Wolfe of Rodeo Realty, the listing agent.Wayans was represented by JoAnne McKenzie of Sotheby’s International Realty.

A massive great room with a lofty gabled ceiling and an impressive black-and-white marble fireplace are among these distinctive features.

At the opposite end of the great room is an open kitchen with a center island featuring a cascading edge, a walk-in pantry, and Thermador appliances.

The great room includes a capacious dining area and a highly stylish bar. The residence was designed with entertaining in mind, and its other luxurious features include a home theater and a media/game room with multiple uses.

Wayans, 49, received his major debut in the 1988 film “I’m Gonna Get You Sucka” directed by his brother Keenen Ivory Wayans.

He subsequently collaborated with his brother Shawn Wayans on the sitcom “The Wayans Bros.” as well as in the feature-length comedies “Scary Movie,” “Scary Movie 2,” and “White Chicks.”

He has also appeared in the dramas “Requiem for a Dream” and “Respect,” in which he portrays Aretha Franklin’s first spouse.
