Winch Design Unveils Eco-Friendly Superyacht Interior for the Flexplorer 146 Series

Winch Design has once again demonstrated that style and sustainability can go hand in hand with their latest creation. The renowned international design firm, known for its work across air, land, and sea projects, has unveiled a superyacht interior that seamlessly combines high design with eco-friendly living.

This remarkable vessel is the third in Cantiere delle Marche’s Flexplorer 146 series, measuring 144 feet. It was specifically designed for an environmentally conscious owner who has a deep commitment to nature. The owner, along with their young family, intends to spend a significant amount of time on the yacht, necessitating a design that supports their eco-friendly lifestyle.

In homage to Mother Earth, the interior of the yacht will exclusively feature natural, non-toxic, and eco-friendly materials. Each material has been carefully selected and analyzed to ensure minimal environmental impact. The design will incorporate earthy colors and organic textures to create a raw yet refined ambiance. Mafi’s natural wooden floors will grace the yacht’s interior, further contributing to the chemical-free and environmentally friendly environment.

One of the most intriguing aspects of this project is the use of unconventional green materials. The living quarters will boast carpets crafted from recycled fishing nets and textured eggshell walls. Interestingly, approximately 275,000 tons of eggshells are produced globally each year as a byproduct of the food industry, but these can be cleverly repurposed for interior design through a roasting and coloring process. Additionally, woven grass will adorn the ceiling domes, and reclaimed seashell composite will embellish all of the bathrooms. This innovative approach not only adds to the yacht’s sustainability but also creates a unique and visually appealing interior.
