The term “futuristic” is often used to describe superyacht designs, but Kyron Design’s latest creation is genuinely deserving of that term. The expedition vessel appears to have seaworthiness commensurate with its futuristic appearance, circa 2040.
The 230-foot Nzuri is the first superyacht concept to emerge from the fledgling studio. The crew designed the explorer to travel to the world’s most remote regions while providing guests with the most luxurious amenities. It even has room for a pair of unreleased Audi EVs with autonomous driving capabilities.
The exterior of the vessel is characterised by sharp, angular lines and a steel hull with a partial fibreglass superstructure. The interior of Nzuri is sparse and minimalist, relying heavily on premium timbers and marble.
Nzuri can accommodate 20 visitors across 10 cabins, in addition to a full crew. Obviously, the pièce de résistance is the owner’s suite, which features a private terrace and a bathroom with a walk-in shower, bathtub and sauna.
The yacht’s focal point is a circular salon with ocean views and an open, minimalist design. Depending on your entertaining requirements, this versatile space can function as a seating area during the day and a dining room at night.
If you’d rather relax outdoors, the main deck has a fully equipped bar and ample space. This space is large enough to accommodate two Audi AI:Trail quattro electric vehicles, which we can only presume would be included with the vessel. This concept was unveiled by the brand in 2019 as a future off-road vehicle that is both electric and autonomous. It is not yet available to the general public, but it may be by the time Nzuri reaches the water.
In addition, the ship features a sun deck with a jacuzzi and panoramic views, as well as a large swimming pool that functions as a “touch and go” helipad for your helicopter. A spacious beach club with a second bar, day beds, and retractable terraces is located at the stern. If you’re not having enough fun with the Audis, Nzuri also has a garage with the capacity to store two tenders and six jet skis.
Nzuri has an estimated optimum speed of 22 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles in terms of performance. This would enable her to travel from the polar regions to the Galapagos Islands. In addition, she has a completely stocked exploration equipment room.
