Brooklyn Nets star and duo behind the famous ‘Frozen’ song buy residences in this opulent Dumbo tower

Brooklyn Nets’ Ben Simmons and Oscar Winners Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez Invest in Luxurious Dumbo’s Olympia Residences

Dumbo’s Olympia, a prestigious 33-story luxury tower nestled in Brooklyn, is capturing the attention of luminaries from the entertainment, fashion, and sports industries. The latest buzz surrounds notable figures securing residences within this upscale haven.

Ben Simmons, the Australian-born basketball sensation and three-time NBA All-Star for the Brooklyn Nets, has finalized a substantial real estate deal. He acquired a pair of adjoining apartments on the 21st floor for a cumulative total of $12 million. Merging the two spaces results in an expansive eight-bedroom loft-style environment spanning 5,578 square feet, complemented by an additional 322 square feet of outdoor space. The residence features an airy chef’s kitchen and boasts impressively high 11-foot ceilings. With ample dimensions, an insider humorously remarked that the space could even accommodate a basketball game.

This announcement comes almost a year following initial reports that Simmons was in the process of acquiring the combined property, which initially carried an asking price of around $13 million. Around the same period, tennis luminary Naomi Osaka also explored the Olympia building as part of her home search.

The building’s roster of esteemed residents is now enriched by two more prominent additions. Recent reports in Crain’s and Mansion Global detail the acquisition of two units on the 24th floor by the talented and Oscar-winning songwriting couple, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Their musical genius is responsible for the infectious Һit “Let It Go” from Disney’s “Frozen.” The duo invested $11.34 million in these adjacent units.

Robert Lopez holds the rare distinction of being an EGOT winner, having secured an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award. At 48, he is also the youngest double-EGOT winner, having achieved this feat twice. He co-created the acclaimed productions “The Book of Mormon” and “Avenue Q.” Kristen Anderson-Lopez’s credits include co-creating “In Transit.” Her accolades comprise two Academy Awards and two Grammy Awards.

Their larger apartment, spanning 2,849 square feet, presents four bedrooms, commanding views of the Brooklyn Bridge, and a terrace that overlooks the East River. The second, more compact unit covers 1,485 square feet and includes two bedrooms.

Adding to the allure, insiders share that a penthouse encompassing 4,266 square feet and priced at $17.5 million is also in the final stages of negotiation with a prominent entertainer.

Olympia’s opulent amenities span a remarkable 38,000 square feet and feature a regulation-size tennis court, dual pools, a two-lane bowling alley, and a fully equipped gym complete with a juice bar.
