The “Fast and Furious” actor Jason Statham aims to accelerate the sale of his Los Angeles midcentury modern home. The renovated residence is back on the market with a reduced asking price of $6,2 million.
Initially, in March, the exquisitely redesigned property was listed for just under $7 million. As it turns out, the 53-year-old British actor who stars in action-packed thrillers prefers the excitement of real estate.
The project, which was acquired for $2.7 million in 2015, presented a challenge to the serial home flipper, who told Architectural Digest in its March issue, “This one sort of appeared out of nowhere and had a certain charm. It was extremely depressed and neglected.”
According to AD, Statham decided swiftly to purchase the property for visitors and use it as a gym and office.
He collaborated with his longstanding architect, Standard Architecture’s Jeff Allsbrook. The renovation lasted 18 months, and according to Statham, it was not constrained by a budget.
According to the listing description, the final product is a “organic masterpiece” and a “harmonious blend of midcentury and Scandinavian design with the latest and greatest modern amenities.”
Now, it is available at an 11% discount to bargain-hunting customers.
Built in 1957, the 3,000-square-foot home features four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The cedarwood-clad asymmetrical roofline is a significant design element in the wood-and-glass-themed living area. The residence has an indoor-outdoor layout and a neutral colour scheme.
The living and dining areas have floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that lead to the private outdoor area.
For effortless outdoor entertaining, the modern kitchen features a revolving glass door that leads out to the saltwater swimming pool. The master suite has a bathroom with a freestanding tub, a walk-in wardrobe made of oak, and a private outdoor lounge with a fire pit.
The remaining two bedrooms are ideal for visitors or could be utilised as offices or study areas.
Outdoor amenities include a barrel sauna and an icemaker with an immersion pond made of stainless steel for ice baths after a workout. Those who are not as hardy as the actor-athlete could possibly submerge beers in the chilly tub. The patio also includes a covered grilling area and lounging space.
