Project 3073: Feadship’s Thrilling 63 Metre Sports Yacht Concept

The Dutch shipyard Feadship has unveiled Project 3073, a 63-meter aluminium sporting yacht concept.

Project 3073 is characterised as a “exceptionally fast Feadship” in the third episode of Feadship Unveils, a YouTube series in which the shipyard revisits designs that were never constructed.

Henk de Vries, the chief executive officer of Feadship, and Tanno Weeda, the director of design, presented the concept for the potential future Feadship sports yacht.

The initial concept was created for a patron who already owned two Mangusta superyachts and requested that Feadship design “something sleek, sporty, and elegant.” In addition, the vessel had to have a maximum speed of 25 to 30 knots and a wheelhouse in the saloon.

The design features an open cockpit and a sleek exterior, as well as a cutting-edge propulsion system that employs water jets rather than propellers. The Project 3073 incorporates a full-sized pool with a glass bottom aft.

This was characterised by Weeda as “one of the most intriguing aspects of the yacht.”

He added, “The area for the proprietor is below. The illumination [from the pool’s glass bottom] provides a beautiful, elegant impression of the space below.”

The unveiling of the sports yacht follows the unveiling of the 109-meter superyacht design Project Freddie Gump as part of the Feadship Unveils series.
